Had a strange fault on my wipers today. Wipers suddenly not working. No response from the stalk, then after much trying, a half wipe, then they get going again.
I checked the 3 related fuses. I replaced fuse 44 and fault seemed to clear, but then came back shortly afterwards.
Not sure if it’s the stalk or something else.

Any ideas welcome!

First thing I would check is the connector in the bulkhead. It is like a 'commando socket' where the pins push fit and then the cover twists to lock it. I could see it potentially coming loose or getting damp in there.

Thanks. Checking voltages is a bit beyond my current level of tinkering. So on the way home today with less rain and no large puddles the fault didn’t return. This morning was very heavy rain and I did have to go though several very big puddles at speed, which I would normally never do. She doesn’t like rain!

If a fuse has some resistance then it can be considered good there are ranges usually resistance is very low.
What you are looking for is infinite witch means open circuit.

Personally I prefer to check for power on both sides, this happens when the circuit is turned on. If you only have power on one side then the fuse is usually defective.
