Hello everyone. I very recently bought this nice Z3 3.0i automatic, and I am looking to replace the auto transmission fluid. According to a source, I would need the FEBI BILSTEIN 1001357 Automatic transmission filter kit, but I am unsure about the oil. Can anyone recommend what type of oil is best? Is Dexron III OK? Or shall I go for something like a lifetime oil ETL 704SE? The car is in Hampshire, England. Thanks in advance.

Thank you, this is interesting. It still doesn't suggest oil types though, apart from Dexron III.

I serviced my 3.0 gearbox and diff and used the following

Diff fluid Motul Gear Comp 74w-140 fully synthetic 2 litres https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-900-mo...ssion-ls-differential-oil.aspx?variantid=1132
Auto transmission fluid Comma MV ATV fully synthetic 10litres https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-147573...on-power-steering-fluid.aspx?variantid=246831
Mr shudder torque inhibiter https://ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk/product/lubegard-instant-shudder-fixx/
Transmission filter, gasket and bolts Febi 27005 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/febi-bilstein/7108871
FEBI BILSTEIN 27065 Automatic transmission filter kit

I did the diff as I was under the car anyway and replaced every fluid so thought might as well while I am here.

Remember you can only use the bolts once so the Febi kit comes with everything
