Hello all. When I bought my Zed 1, 2 & 3 fan settings didn't work. This was fixed but it doesn't get as hot as I would have thought. The heater needs to be cranked up as far as it will go to get reasonable heat from the vents. It cools down dramatically if I turn it down just a bit. The coolant is fine and the temp gauge warms up and sits where it should. I've googled around but am unsure what it is. Any help/ direction would be most appreciated.

If it's electrics I'll get my garage to do it. Witchcraft. :nailbiting:
 
I have read about the flaps, for want of a better word, not opening fully in the ducting leading to the vents.
 
Sounds to me as though your thermostat is opening too early Andy. Well worth checking the temp which should be marked on it. Or just replace ir anyway.

Has the coolent in the radiator been changed recently? If so, you may have an air lock in the heater matrix.

Had it changed about 8 months ago, I'll give a whirl and see if it helps. Thanks.
 
If you have any air in the system Andy, you would more than likely notice a "rushing" sounds behind the dash ie in the heater box on start up after the car has been standing a while. Has the water pump been changed lately?

Can't say I can hear a rushing sound Tony, sounds all OK. Having looked through the docs I have got there's no sign of the water pump being changed .......... is this another thing on the list? I'll Google costs.

Hope you get it sorted soon mate,it's not the weather for driving about without a good heater :rolleyes:
Fingers crossed it's a simple fix.
 
If you're going to overhaul the cooling system the first things to do would be pump and t/stat and probably back flush the system before refilling with new a/freeze.

Yeah, good logic Tony. I'll Google around for parts costs and take it from there.
 
I found mine to just pack up had been fine and very hot almost too hot at times but on tonys Swan meet i found the car to not getup to running temp and heaters on it dropped the temp.
The stat looked fine when i looked at it but having replaced it , it restored temp and heater temp.

Think I'll do that anyway as they're not expensive.

I knew there was a problem as the heater did not get very hot, also my temperature gauge only just came off the blue zone. Now there is plenty of hot air available.

Mine was daft money as it was a stat and a housing all on one was about 70 quid rather than a tenner for the stat.
I brought the stat as per the real oem as it was what was shown i had fitted to find out it had the expensive one !!:banghead:
