Hello all,
This is my first post and I'm in need of some advice. I'm in a bit of a pickle as my Z3 (manufacture year 2000) has failed its MOT due to a corroded offside rear suspension arm and the handbrake "efficiency" being below requirements. I've tried a couple of different garages who have both said they are unable to find a replacement suspension arm and so I'm unsure what to do next. Do you have any suggestions for where I might try for the part? I'd really like to get it repaired if at all possible but fear it may all be too much work even if the part could be found. I'd be so grateful for any guidance or suggestions.

Thanks in advance,
Amy

Morning Amy Sorry to hear your plight, having exactly the same problem atm. Apparently no longer available from BMW to purchase so any good secondhand replacement will be expensive.
Someone in the know will no doubt be along soon to offer advice.

Fear not Amy, freshly refurbished/powder coated arms are available as mentioned. Handbrakes are easy enough to sort, probably just needs adjusting properly.

Hi Amy, welcome here. Where are you located please?

Tony.

Welcome to the forum. From us in Lincoln. You are quite close to spursfan.check his feed.may be he can help😁

If it helps track down parts... the rear suspension of a Z3 is from a BMW E30 (1980s BMW 3 series)

While I was ordering parts from Cotswold the other day for my rear end refresh,I asked about the availability of the arms for my wife’s 3.0 , one in Germany for the bargain price of £1380 + VAT…..so if you only need one ( can’t remember which side it was) and you win the Euromillions this evening………
