Z3 seatbelt pretension lead - which way???

UK spec 1998 1.9, I'm getting a fault message on both seatbelt pretensioners; Creator 410 won't clear it. I've just trial-fitted a spare pretensioner on the passenger side but can't remember which way round the yellow cable connector goes - does it matter? I checked online and found a number of videos and photos showing it going forwards and the wiring cable tied along the length of the pre-tensioner, but I'm nearly sure mine was facing backwards with just the one cable tie holding the protective cap on, and the cable was threaded under the cloth at the rear of the seat. It's only a two-pin connector and fits both ways, does it matter? I'd just like to get it right and so eliminate one potential problem.

Fitted it facing backwards, the way I think it came off... doesn't make any difference, the warning light has remained on and the Creator won't clear the code anyway.

These are reliant on a good resistance to work correctly, here is a 'How to' test them, if its duff then you have to replace with a good used one from one of our resident breakers.

Yes, I replaced the lead with a £5 version off eBay and the light went out immediately, and has not come on again. It's always the cheapest part that causes the biggest problem.
