After 18 years, the front and rear shocks on my Zed are looking a tad tired. I'm not looking to lower the car or stiffen for the track, just replace them for new ones. Any suggestions?
1997 1.9 M44.

I fitted a Bilstien kit to my last Zed, same model as yours, a bit firmer but anything would be after 18 years. You can get into some interesting positions getting the the rear top mounts. Depends on what you want to pay out really though.

I replaced the rears on mine with Sachs (OE quality) from GSF Car Parts, and they work well enough.

Mind you the rears were completely shot and providing nothing in the way of dampening, so anything would be an improvement!

have got a leaky front shocker on mine too and not sure what to put on mine either.decisions decisions..........

Mine aren't leaking, just 18 years old and looking sorry for themselves. So much choice out there. Let me know what you do and I'll let you know.

i have just looked on the web and thinking of sachs shocks.quite a good brand and not overly expensive.has anyone on here fitted them to the front?i am not looking for race shocks just decent quality aftermarket ones.have seen them on the net at around 75 quid each so not too bad.will do them my self so not an expensive fit.

Are you putting on new springs as well?

That sounds a tad expensive to me Kevlar. If you're not desperate, remind me a week on Friday and I'll see what I can get them for?

Tony.

I've looked at those as well, not too sure if I should stick to OEM, as you said, decisions, decisions, decisions.:(

Sachs are OE fitment on a lot of BMWs - my factory fitted shocks ;)
