Z4 Coupé and Toyota?

I recently posted this picture online



This is a BMW Z4 Coupé. Umm whichever the fastest one is with the best engine.... Anyway someone commented saying that it has a Toyota/Scion rear end, especially the taillights.

I'm not so sure they share parts, the Scion FRS/GT 86 looks kind of similar but not enough to say they're the same.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Z4 coupe was manufactured between 2006-2008, GT86 was not produced till 2012 so no idea how BMW got their styling I have never thought about it like that to be honest! I thought you are referring to G29 Z4 and the new Supra which share a lot of design/parts and technologies!

Thanks, that clears it up! I did think about mentioning that I know the G29 and Supra share parts but there's no Coupe version of the G29
