So I type this whilst waiting on a train with the great 4g signal in London after meeting the wonderfully knowledgable and thoroughly decent chap @Lee and leaving my Z for some much needed specialist TLC.

Also got a spin in the now (in)famous pearl white Z3M. Power corrupts. I've said a 2.8 is plenty and 300+horse would be a waste in UK but that's not true! He's sorted that car so well, drives like a new car and pulls and pulls and even in greasy weather very stable and just finds traction.Very impressed! Looks great too, not seen another like it.
Lee really knows his stuff, look forward to getting my Z back in better shape!

What a great little community we have here!

I'm planning too, depends what i find.
 
You mean you haven't found the turbo V8 you promised to fit yet?
I'm not worried about the bonnet closing after, just bung it in (along with a touring fuel tank!).

I've got a 462 cu in chev Big Block sitting here doing nothing. Should give you 600+hp or there's a 98 Z3 in the USA on eBay.com with a 5.7L already in it. item number is: 251829990725. Should be about £1500 for shipping to a number of ports, Southampton being the closest to @Lee! Check it out, JIM
 
@oldcarman wow only if I was local I would be stright over to see that. I suspect he has forgotten to do the radiator upgrade.

Hi Lee, yes, I think you're right. A three core cross flow would probably solve the problem. Venting the hood( bonnet) to release the heat build up would also go a long ways to relieving and releasing heat. It would be nice to get a look at just what he's done. My kid brother has stuffed small block Chevys into a variety of vehicles over the years including a 58 Merc which he drove for many years and 10's of thousands of miles. We've looked it over in the Zed and there's plenty of room but also leads to transmission and rear end changes. Would be better if it was a ///M. JIM

So in the absence of my blue 2 seater open top I dusted off my other blue open top ride.
Just needed to add a second seat for Jnr to jump in and we were off.
Dodgy two tone scheme just like a Z too.
We had to make our own exhaust noise and didn't go very far but was a nice ride nonetheless!!

Whilst cycling is nice I'm missing my 2.8 too much so decided to hook the bike up to my other 2.8 albeit a V6 not straight six:

What a 2.8 it is too, 204bhp from 2800cc.
The only time VW made an NA engine with more output than the equivalent size BMW.

Yes pretty early for mowing, I get the prize for first one on the street this year!!

It's raining here today. We managed to get a rideout yesterday though, only a 100 mile roundtrip up to Roadford Lake but it was a great topless run:cool:

Big today tomorrow...off to the far 'West Country' (Basingstoke!) to pick up the Z.
A bit of a trip for me and my eldest son (now 6).
3 trains from Kent to Basingstoke (3,5hrs)

Then 2hrs drive back in the M3, M25,M20 where at junction 8 we branch finally leave the motorways for the last 30mies home on some beautiful Kentish A roads.

Not sure if such a trip warrants a new thread with pics ala Frankie and Hugh as somehow a trip crossing the Home Counties just is not as exciting to look as when done in the US.

Nevertheless with a 6yr old in tow it's a still a big adventure for us!
