1998 Z3 1.9l Autocross Build

Replaced the ratty old intake tube with a race-ready silicone tube with a nice wingnut clamp. Ahhhhhhh.....so nice to make stuff racey.

Given there is no replacement for the air duct, I was going to use the home depot ducts. Now, I can copy your setup.
 
Aug 2 2025. Crows Landing, San Francisco Region SCCA.

First autocross in 40 years! Did...not...hit...a...cone. Did miss a gate on run 3...but no cones were harmed. Super happy with, as my instructor Connie said, "well, you obviously haven't forgotten how to do that!" Stinking hot and burned, but what a hoot of a day.

I am back!!!

I'm reading the car door and looks like the SCCA classed your car under ES S3. Is there no S6 class? Seems like you would be the under dog at S3.

S6 is not an option. And yes. I am an under dog in my class against almost all Miatas, but winning is not my thing; I am just out to enjoy my time.

New, today...M Sport grills. Cannot change much for E Street, but I can detail it out....as long as I don't add weight!

Just out of interest, do you get any extra points for driving your car to the event?

I know the HSCC offer an extra championship point if you drive your car in
 
Finished 43rd out of 58 on handicap (PAX); won my class (no one else in it Sat or Sun). About the same PAX placing as last time out in August...so that's nice. If I calculate PAX, using my actual fastest time from fun runs, I would be 40th. Next up...Nov 1.

Nope, no S6 class...and yes Miatas will beat me every time. At least for a while.
