Hi all,

I've located a Facelift OBC (the round one) which will complete my facelift interior swap.
I was wondering if these OBC's are in need of coding to the specific car or are they just good old fashioned plug and play...

As far as I can tell the connector did not change between the facelift so it physically plugs in fine.

My car is a 2.8 with the OBC fitted as standard so already has the indicator stalk, temp sensor etc that is needed..

Have given up on trying to get the round clock to work (I really want the clock in there but there isn't an available connector in the car for it..). Think I'll hang on to the clock anyway as I'm sure with enough time and patience the clock can be made to work but for know I'll have settle with the digital OBC...if that is plug and play!!

Plug N Play. My facelift car had no OBC, so I added one. My buddy's '96 (pictured) had one (square style) and we upgraded his to round style along with all the console and buttons, it was 100% plug n play.

Great, thanks for confirming....Plug and play, music to my ears!

I still want a clock but the OBC will do for now, the unconnected clock I have now looks lovely but grates me!

There are only 3 pins in the clock connector. If you can get the connector from a breaker with a small length of wire on it all you need to do is to supply 12v for lighting, clock power, and an earth, you can tap off the cig lighter for the constant power, and the cig. lighter illumination ring light for the illumination.

That's a good idea, I'll try and locate the connector, will check real OEM to and check if BMW sell the connectors still, should be still available.
Thanks!
