Event Torksey Lock Cruise and Lunch. 2023. September 10th.

Evening everyone,

I will be travelling from the North East to attend Torksey Lock and plan to stay overnight, is anyone else planning to stay over?

Some stay at the Black Swan at Marton (my home village) about 2 miles north on A156. Alan Slade and Malc (Mazza) are I understand, they may have vacancy.

ps. There is still a pub there called the Ingleby Arms too.

You're welcome mate, if they don't I know of one at Saxilby which is about 5-6 miles nearer to Lincoln. It's called Canal View.

I must recommend the Black Swan at Marton, we have stayed there a few times and have always been made very welcome. The Black Swan isn’t a pub it’s a family run guest house.
 
Linda and I are also staying at the Black Swan.
 
Try the Canal View at Saxilby John, failing that there is a hotel next to where we are booked for lunch at Burton Lane End.

It's become a bit confusing having two 'Torksey Lock' threads. Which do we respond to? Where do we meet up at on the day? Woodcocks?Still meet at the White Swan I think, but no toilets etc if it's closed.

We have booked the Horse and Hounds in Gainsborough Rd, Willingham by Stow, Lincoln DN21 5JX , if anyone is nearby and they are interested in a meet up on the Saturday late afternoon/evening, drop me a message.

So for us old people :( , any suggestions where we can call to use toilets near Torksey before meeting up? Ideally, not behind the hedge up the road. 😂

Yeah they must work. A woman was found dead with a zip tie around her neck in Orlando last week.

OK. Just to confirm that:

1. We will be meeting and departing from the White Swan at Torksey Lock as we have in the past. Meet from 9.00am. First group away by 10.00am.

2. As the Pub will be closed by then, you will have to call at a fuel station or such before arriving at Torksey Lock to avail yourselves of their facilities because there will be no access to the Pub.

3. We will be issuing "crib sheets" as in the past so you don't need a SatNav.
