Event Torksey Lock Cruise and Lunch. 2023. September 10th.

Well we went round the route again this morning and have committed to what we have. I need 1 more group leader though if someone would like to help out.

Official recce and BBQ will be on 3rd. September all group leaders are invited.

I will make sure Mue and I are there ready to do the recce do you need anything bringing for the bbq?

Cruise route finalised yesterday by me and Alex @AleNod, we had a little rain but roof down most of the way round. When we arrived at The Woodcocks we decided to sample some snacks and beer as we missed out on a butty as the Cafe closed early.
51 miles (give or take a tenth) and approx. an hour and 25 mins.

Pre cruise recce for Group Leaders is at the Shed on Sunday 3rd. to meet at 12.00 and leave around 12.30. Drive the route and return for a BBQ.

Hiya,

1. We will be meeting and departing from the White Swan at Torksey Lock as we have in the past. Meet from 9.00am. First group away by 10.00am.

Please bear in mind the White Swan is closed so no toilet access. If you pass a fuel station on your way might be a good idea to avail your selves of the facilities.
I'm surprised we haven't heard from Richard and Mary we trust they're both well. Looking forward to seeing you both.:)

Cruise route recce completed yesterday followed by traditional BBQ. I don’t think I poisoned anyone. We had a quick browse of the Woodcocks before heading back to light the Barbie. There was Key Lime Pie too as well as Lake fish.
A quick stop en route at Wharton Hill lay-by. Only picture that I took.

Excellent Tony, hope the weather holds up next weekend.

I now know what a lake fish is (pretty good!). Also Key Lime Pie is georgeous. Unless I'm present, in which case its horrible. I would then however be prepared to take one for the team . . .

As expected there were a few "left overs" from the Barbie. A few sausages, which made us a quick tea in the last buns with a couple of eggs. Bloody awful they were too!
